Berry House

Situated within 5 acres of lush garden, this project seeks to unify and rationalise a connection between three existing ‘pavilions’ on site with a contemporary linking structure. Each pavilion is wrapped with a traditional ‘lean-to’ verandah, the linking structure inverts this typology by raising the eave to the sky which allows more natural light and views of the distant escapement to enter into the heart of the building. The zone between pavilions is defined by a river rock flooring which bleeds into the house from the garden further connecting the house to its beautiful surrounds.
